Mindfulness

There is evidence that Mindfulness can improve mental and physical health and wellbeing and its use is recommended in the management of Fibromyalgia.

You have been given this leaflet as your therapist believes that learning to be more Mindful may help you better manage your current pain condition.

 

The 8 week Mindfulness for Health course is designed to help people with chronic pain use Mindfulness to help reduce suffering. The authors, who both have complex pain, understand the problems people face. The course evaluates well and there is ongoing research.

 

We have a course running at Prestons Health starting in April.

 

This will be led by Barbara Meeds. Barbara is a retired physiotherapist with 14 year experience of working in a multidisciplinary pain management team. She is an accredited Breathworks teacher, member of the Mindfulness Association and on the Listing of UK Mindfulness teachers.

  • Monday April 16th   9:30-11:00   1:00-2:30   and   6:15-7:45
  • Tuesday April 17th   9:30-11:00   and   1:00-2:30

The full Mindfulness for Health course will run on 8 consecutive Tuesday morning starting on

24th April 2018 with each session lasting between 2.5 and 3 hours.

There will be a maximum of 8 people on each course.

Participation in the course cost £220 which includes a copy of the book, a course workbook and 4 CD’s / downloads of meditations.

 

Barbara will also be running the same course on Monday evenings in Werrington, Peterborough which will be suitable for anyone who is unable to attend a daytime course.
